ISSP [2022] : SimplyCoco: A Business Plan to Find Economic Value from Waste

The coconut husk is a significant problem in the Muang Mai Subdistrict, Amphawa because it is discarded and left to burn once the coconut meat is extracted. The frequent burning that is used to get rid of coconut husks has negative effects on the environment. The Amphawa municipality seeks to mitigate this problem by repurposing the coconut husks for economic development. Through research, observations, interviews and surveys, we introduced a new business plan for the Amphawa municipality to transform their waste into new resources, adding economic value to the waste.
