River Kwai Park & Resort is located in Chongsadao, Kanchanaburi, a province in Thailand. Our sponsor, the resort owner, aims to reduce waste of plastic water bottles by installing a water purification system at the resort. We gathered the staff’s opinions about plastic waste by distributing a survey. Based on the responses, we created a behavior change plan to encourage the staff to drink purified water. The behavior plan revolves around motivation, mentors, and incentives. We recommended two water purifier options based on size, cost, capacity, performance, lifetime of filter, and cost of filter. The hospitality industry is responsible for a large sector of global waste. Implementing sustainable waste management and reduction will help reduce the ecological footprint emerged from the progress of the industry.
